FYI, many sites (including gfycat and kinja) that display mp4/webm/other HTML5 video also transcode a gif version so if you need a gif to post to kinja you can do something like the following (I’m assuming Windows and Chrome here, but other platforms are similar):

Right click and say “Open video in new tab”

Look at the URL (in this case it is: https://giant.gfycat.com/BlaringFocusedCuscus.webm )

Change the extension to .gif (so for this: https://giant.gfycat.com/BlaringFocusedCuscus.gif )

Hit enter to load the gif and make sure it is actually there.

Paste the URL into your kinja post.
